Further to the letter you received last week, you might also have seen in the news that some teachers will be taking strike action. For our school the dates on which we may be affected are:
Wednesday 1 February 2023Wednesday 1 March 2023Wednesday 15 March 2023Thursday 16 March 2023.
The strike is happening because of a national dispute between the unions and the government over pay, and not because of any issues at our school. I’m getting in touch to give you as much notice as possible that learning may be disrupted on the dates listed.
Some of our teachers will be taking strike action, others will be working normally. As it stands, the school will remain open to all classes however, teachers are not required to inform schools of their intention beforehand and so there may well be last minute adjustments to our plans for the day, please do consider any childcare contingency plans that may be needed.
I’m sorry about the potential disruption to you and to your child’s education. I understand that this situation may be frustrating, we thank you for your continued support and understanding.
