FAO Year 310 March 2025 (by Chris Brooke (Chris Brooke)) |
Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope you are well. As our upcoming performances approach, please remind your child to bring in their costumes for dress rehearsals next week. Below is a brief list of costume ideas:
General Costume Guidelines:
-
Clothing: Old, oversized shirts, blouses, or dresses in earthy tones (brown, grey, beige) work well. Consider worn-out trousers, skirts, or pinafores. Simple aprons, shawls, or scarves can enhance the look, along with dark socks or plain shoes.
-
Accessories: If you have flat caps, bonnets, or headscarves, please use them. Belts, waistcoats, or long coats can add character, and props like baskets or books would be great.
-
Extra Details: For an aged appearance, lightly rub clothes with tea bags. Use charcoal or face paint for dirt smudges, and rolled sleeves and untucked shirts will create a scruffy look.
Quick Tips for Parents:
- Use old clothes rather than buying new.
- Layer simple items for varied looks.
- DIY distressing adds authenticity.
- Ensure costumes are comfortable for movement.
Thank you for your support. Should you have any questions, please get in touch.
Warm regards,
the year 3 and 4 team
