FAO: Whole School : Recruiting Parent Governors – An Exciting Opportunity!11 December 2025 (by Holly Evans (admin)) |
Dear Parents/Carers,
We are delighted to share that we currently have two Parent Governor vacancies on our Governing Body, and we would love to hear from parents who are passionate about supporting our school.
Parent Governors play a truly important role in primary schools. They work closely with staff and other governors to help shape the school’s strategic direction, champion school improvement, and ensure that every decision made is in the best interests of our children. You don’t need any special qualifications — just enthusiasm, curiosity, and a commitment to helping our school community flourish.
This is a fantastic opportunity to support Saffron Green at a really exciting time, as the school continues to thrive, grow, and move confidently forward. Being part of this journey is incredibly rewarding.
The commitment for a Parent Governor includes:
-
A minimum of three full Governing Body meetings each year
-
Additional meetings if you choose to join a committee
-
Around three school visits per year linked to your area of interest
-
Some training, which we will fully support you with
If you think you might be interested — or if you’re simply curious and would like to know more — your next step is to contact the Headteacher via the school office for a friendly, informal chat about what the role involves.
We really hope to hear from as many of you as possible!
